They say a leopard can’t change his spots
A fish its’ fins, or a Zebra her stripes
But this theory deserves second thoughts
As any do that cause sorts of hypes
Green is green, likewise white is white
And then, of course, there’s good old red
Each with their own definition and light
Each definition different to a different head
But I’ve seen colors change, spots disappear
The process slow, never done all alone
Mud without water has no chance to clear
Dark remains if no light is ever shown
I’ve seen red change, from nil to a name
Seen spots drop in the mirror at home
Again seen a face never look the same
Seen my grays transform into chrome
All because of one face, a soul and heart
One red took the time to be my light
Saw me cry and kept smiling from the start
Never did I realize this heart so polite
Watched me regrow, become a new man
Saved my heart with no return in mind
Helped me stand when I would have ran
Never did I realize this angel so kind
